Angels of 3 a.m. #2

8.5″ x 8″ x 2″

pexiglass, acrylic, limited edition photo print, epoxy, resin, beam clamps

Last year, during one of the most difficult periods of my life, I found myself plagued by an insomnia even worse than what I usually experience. I routinely walked to my office on campus between 2 and 4 in the morning, when it was evident that nothing could calm my mind.

At the top of the hill, a light always shone to greet me – staring out of a small cluster of trees, and giving the impression of an angel with open wings, ready to shepherd me through the loneliness of the remaining night, and the stress of the day about to dawn. I will miss this sight of constant comfort as I relocate from the village I prepare to part.

May the sight of unexpected Angels of 3 a.m. – in whatever form you find them, or they find you – provide you the blessing of comfort as well.
